the doggy lama
the doggy lama has been recommending Saving Grace Pet Services for years.
I am now proud to be partnered with the largest dog walking and pet sitting company on Capitol Hill.
CEO Grace Steckler started her business as a way to meld together two of her loves—her passion for pets and her enthusiasm for the Hill. Saving Grace Pet Care currently employs twenty dedicated dog walkers and pet sitters, all of whom share Grace’s love for animals. In fact, they often brave high humidity, drenching rains, and frigid snow and ice to prove it!
In joining forces, the doggy lama and Saving Grace are fielding the best trained and supervised pet enthusiasts in the region.
Here is a sample Yelp review:
Saving Grace dog walking services is AMAZING. They’ve walked our dog for the past 2.5 years, and I’ve been so happy with how much they genuinely seem to care about her and her well-being. After every walk, we get a great note, detailing which dogs joined ours on her walk, how she behaved, and the other details that are useful for us to know. We get the same walker every day, which provides a great sense of consistency. Their managers are super responsive online, and the business is extremely professionally run. Recommend them without reservation.

John Learn, President of LogicBrush Studios, is my web guy!
To put it mildly, he has kept me sane and practical in my technical aspirations in a practical, understandable and accessible way. I don’t know what I would do without him.
He designed, built, hosted and has helped me to maintain my websites… all three of them, including this one and Bonny King-Taylor/Life Scripts Coaching.
John’s ability to answer my questions and meet my needs in a way that I can understand is priceless. It doesn’t hurt that his rates are reasonable.
John brings a unique perspective to web development projects, with a background that spans both the technical and the artistic. He loves his work and speaks ‘non-technical’ in a way that makes working with him a pleasure.
If you’d like a beautiful, interactive and out-of-the-ordinary website or web-based application, give John and Logic Brush Studios a call at +1 (215) 290-0636 or drop him a line at info@logicbrush.com.
Tell him the doggy lama sent you!
It may seem odd for a pet coach to be recommending a children’s consignment shop, but the Monkey’s Uncle on Capitol Hill is one of my favorite places on earth. Not only do I find some of my very best friends there, and enjoy our wonderful community, but I find practical and reasonably priced ‘weather wear’ for my Bartleby.
I’m not a big advocate for dressing dogs up, though I do like a good Halloween costume if the dog does not mind. However, when the weather turns freezing or snowy, I put a jacket on my dog. I’ve found two at Monkey’s Uncle that work better than most pet store options (because they cover his belly) at very reasonable prices.
Stop by and talk to Jay and Michael about your dog’s needs and I will bet they can find you something! And, say hello to Bartleby’s best buddy, Goose. He’s a retired racing Greyhound and a real sweetie.
You will find them at 321 7th Street, SE Washington (a half block north of the Eastern Market Metro station), or give them a call at 202.543.6471. Their website is monkeysuncleonthehill.com.
I haven’t owned a car since 1995, and as much as I love local pet supply stores for treats and toys, I am THRILLED to promote the delivery service that brings 30 lb. bags of food to my door… with no delivery fee!
Petflow is quick, convenient and, best of all, ensures that I never have to worry about my little guy going hungry because I am too busy to borrow a car and schlep food across town. They make scheduled deliveries of the brands I want, at competitive rates.
If you’d like to share in the convenience, follow my exclusive link to get started. By doing so, you will put kibble in Bartleby’s bowl!
